Saved plans
Your selections are stored in this browser so you can come back to them. Clearing browser storage removes those local selections.
Shared plans
When you save, share or email a plan, we store a copy of it on our server under a random link that is hard to guess, such as showweekendguide.com/p/ followed by 16 characters. Anyone with that link can open the plan, so send it only to people you want to see it. Our storage provider, Upstash, holds the copy for us.
The stored copy contains your show and its date, your hotel nights, the number of adults, children and rooms, the places and routes you chose, and your travel preferences. It never contains children’s ages, your personal ticket status, a private map location you placed for your base, your arrangement checklist, an email address or anything from analytics. This browser keeps a private key for each link so that only it can update the plan; we store a scrambled form of that key, not the key itself.
Saving changes updates what the link shows. You can stop sharing at any time, which deletes the stored copy. The copy is deleted automatically one year after the show, or one year after your last change if the plan has no show date. Older share links carry the plan inside the link itself and keep working. Do not include ticket codes, payment information, booking references or your home address.
Emailing a plan
If you ask us to email a plan, we use the address you type once, to send that message through our email provider, Resend. We do not keep the raw address, add it to a mailing list, or send it to analytics. Temporary rate limits use a scrambled identifier in memory to limit repeated requests. The emailed link leaves out children’s ages.
Maps
Comparison maps load map tiles from OpenStreetMap, which receives the technical request information needed to serve the map. We do not request your live location or send dates, guest details or saved-plan identifiers to the map service. Directions links open Google Maps using public place names and addresses.
Place photos
Some place photos come from Google Maps. When a card without our own photo appears, your browser loads that photo directly from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser details under Google’s privacy policy. We don’t store these photos.
Limits on requests
To limit how often photos are looked up and shared links are created or updated, our server keeps a one-way keyed code derived from your IP address and the date, never the address itself. It counts requests in short windows, ten minutes for shared links and an hour for photos, and deletes each count when its window ends.
When you leave this site
Hotel, restaurant, ticket and transport websites have their own privacy policies. A booking happens with that provider. Room searches can carry your chosen dates and guest details, including children’s ages when the selected provider supports them. We do not collect your payment details or manage reservations.
Site operation
Our hosting provider processes technical request information to deliver and protect this site. Sentry receives technical error reports to help us fix failures. We remove trip links, query strings, request headers and interaction breadcrumbs from those reports; session recording is not enabled. On the public site, GoatCounter measures aggregate page visits, planning steps such as choosing a show or saving a plan, and clicks to hotel and ticket websites, without cookies. We send page paths and step names rather than search text, dates, guest details, trip query strings or shared-plan contents. Once analytics is live, it also counts your answer to “Got tickets?” (yes, not yet or just looking), with no identity, dates or party details. Preview and automated testing are excluded from these counts and affiliate attribution. We do not sell your trip information.
